As Easy as 123

This is what coloring Easter eggs looks like at our house. Ford will demonstrate... 1. You take the egg and submerge it along with your whole hand in the colorful water. (sometimes dipping it in one or two other colors before you decide which color it really needs to be).2. Eat lunch while the eggs soak in all that colorful goodness.
3. Carefully remove the egg, placing it directly on the table, being sure to splash Easter cheer and dye all over.
That's it, easy as 123 (speaking of counting - Ford can count to 12 now!). We had a fun day and are very thankful for plastic table covers.

Every week at the library they have story time then a craft for the kids. Wednesday was our first time and we loved it. Ford was a little timid at first and just took it all in with those big eyes. They read a couple of books about frogs then sang some fun frog songs and made this little frog. It was Fords first art project. I think he did a pretty good job.

I've been doing a lot of cooking lately and this little guy is usually under my feet. He really likes to be between me and the counter while I am cooking or doing dishes, so today I put him to work. I'm trying to be more comfortable with letting him explore and make a mess but I just want the batter to stay in the bowl and the dye in the cups. I have to keep reminding myself that it is okay to let my boys be messy sometimes.
And for all my mission buddies who probably don't really read my blog here is a recipe I just found for pao de queijo - Brazilian cheese bread. I made it last week, it was super easy and I thought it tasted fantastic (that magic combination of crispy outside and chewy inside). It brought back all sorts of yummy memories. Wade wasn't too impressed, he said it must be an acquired taste.

Ford is sooo cute! It is really brave to let him color eggs and stir batter. But I'm sure he loves it and that makes it worth it. Can't wait to see you later this month. Is Wade up for another arm wrestling tourney?
