We just got back from two fabulous trips, one to Denver to see old friends, and one to Portland to visit my sister and her husband. We had a great time on our vacations, but plan to stay grounded in Elko for the next little while. We forgot the camera in Denver, then the battery died in Portland so no pictures this time. Thanks everyone for showing us a good time!

By the way, we found out that our next is a boy!

We've been busy.

While I'm updating I should probably mention that I'm pregnant again. We've been slowly spreading the word for a couple of months now. This baby is scheduled to arrive on November 7th. I'll find out if were having a boy or a girl this Thursday. I'm not sure I have a preference this time. It would be fun for Ford to have a little brother to run around with (they'll only be 15 months apart) but a girl sure would be fun too!

Also new - I finally got a book club started with my friends here in Elko. For our first gathering we brought our favorite children’s books. I got a lot of great ideas about books little boys might love from some of my friends. The book we are reading for next month is Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. If I ever blog again, maybe I'll let you know how it was.

We recently had another stay at the Hospital. Ford picked up a bug the last few days we were in Idaho. On the way home he was having more and more trouble breathing so we made a slight detour to the Burley, Idaho Emergency room. I'm leaving out lots of boring details but we ended up going via ambulance to Primary Children’s in Salt Lake, where Ford received excellent care. Wade met us in Burley then had to head straight to Salt Lake. Poor guy, it was a long day and a lot of driving for him but I really couldn't have done it without him. We were there for two nights until Ford was breathing well again. It was a little stressful there for a few days but things are all better now. We have a happy healthy boy again and are happy to be back home.

Here are some other faves from our trip...

Ford and his Great Grandpa Tom. The rattle Ford is holding was Grandpa's when he was a baby.

Ford and Daddy. Wade was a Ford-hog the whole weekend. I didn't even get to hold my own baby until he left.

My Mom and my Grandma Harriet. Happy birthday Grandma.

Taking family pictures is exhausing!

Ford and Daddy again, just sharing a stick.

Here is another one of Ford and Grandpa Tom. Ford is looking like a mean little kid. It took him the whole week to warm up to everyone and when he finally did it was time to go.

What we did at Grandmas....

Like always we had a great time at Grandma and Grandpa's house. We went up to Blackfoot, Idaho for my Grandma's 80th birthday party. Tons of people were there, I guess after 80 years of livin', you know a lot of people. Uncle Jack made his famous bbq chicken for the event and everyone had a great time. Ford and I spent a whole week there and Wade came up for the weekend. While his daddy was around, Ford wouldn't have anything to do with anyone else.

We all had such a fun time. Here are some of the things we did...

Ford played with his cousin Zaida.

Sittin' on the fence with dad, watchin the cows

Weenie roast with the fam

Watchin Grandpa, cousin Sage, and uncle Jack brand the cows. Cousin Ott was there too, ropin' them like a true cowboy.

Grandma made homemade doughnuts. These are better than any other doughnuts on earth, soft and warm and chewy. She gave me the recipe but it's mostly a little of this and a little of that. I'm not sure I'll ever be able to obtain that same perfection as Grandma.

So Sunny

Has it really been 3 months. Sorry. Well if anyone is still checking in on us here are some cute pictures of our boy. He hates the sun in his eyes, but he's not quite sure about these glasses either.
